Welcome to St. Matthews By-the-Sea. Today is the third Sunday in the Christian season of Lent. All of us are encouraged to reflect upon our sins, repent of them, and receive the forgiveness that is ours through Jesus Christ. Throughout the Sundays of Lent, Reverend Miller will be preaching on the theme of "The Love of Jesus, What It Is", a phrase taken from the familiar hymn, "Jesus, the Very Thought of Thee". This morning's message is the fourth in the series. .

Upper Room devotionals for March/April are available in the narthex.

The Trustees will meet after the 10:45 service this morning. The Administrative Council will meet after the same service next Sunday.

Today is the deadline for articles for the next church newsletter. Your articles and announcements should either be placed in the newsletter mailbox next to the office or emailed to Ione Phillips at idphillips@mchsi.com.

We thank everyone who donated to the Brumbley Haiti Relief Fund. The trailer at Bayside Chapel that served as the collection point for your donated items has been removed. There is a similar trailer in West Ocean City. Call Rev. Evans (433-614-3745) if you want information on it.

The Prayer Group meets on Monday mornings at 9:00am in the Baker Parlor. Come and join them.

The United Methodist Women will meet at the church this Tuesday at 12:30pm for their monthly gathering. All the ladies of the church are invited.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry will meet this Tuesday at 6:30pm to display and bless the shawls the ladies have created over the last two monthes.

Family Fun Night pulls into the station this Friday evening. The festivities start at 6:00pm with a covered dish supper followed by the games at 7:00pm. See old friends and make new ones at Family Fun Night!

Due to an electrical malfunction, we lost almost all of the food that was in our Freezer of Love. We need to restock. Soups, stews, and casseroles are particularly needed. Your donations go to people who live in our community or are passing through it who would otherwise go hungry. Thanks for the help!

Artists - Crafters - Creative People! Use your talents to help us celebrate life, spring, and the joy of the Resurrection. We are looking for people to participate in a fine arts festival that will be held on Fiday, April 9 from 1:00pm - 6:00pm as a part of our week of ArtSpring. Call Dee Granger (410-422-9646) for more details.

Sign up as soon as you can for the ladies' day retreat "Hidden Promise Revealed", a Woman's Faith Exploration with Susie Bond, facilator. It will be on Saturday, April 10 from 9am - 3pm in Clendaniel Hall. The cost is $20 and includes lunch and a craft. Reservations and money are due by March 28. Make checks payable to the United Methodist Women.
