Wednesday’s Word – April 14, 2021

Wednesday’s Word

Good Wednesday Morning to you! Hope you are already moving and grooving to all that God has blessed you with today!  Last night Ann and I were at her mom and dad’s house.  (Thank you for your prayers, they are doing well.)  Did I tell you they were gifted with a parakeet this passed Christmas; a cute, little, blue, budgie boy!  His name is Chatty.  However, he does not talk much!

Since Christmas, we have all taken our turns at trying to get Chatty to Chat.  Last night, as family was talking to Chatty, I thought, “He has no understanding of what we are saying!”  And by the same measure we don’t understand him.  He speaks Budgie and we speak Sussex County English, which I realize may be part of the communication problem.  We both talk.  We both do not understand.

That reminded me of Jesus talking to the disciples, “Do ye not yet understand?” (Matthew 15:17 KJ).  “How is it that you do not understand?” (Matthew 16:11).  “Why do you not understand my speech?” (John 8:43).  “You shall hear and not understand” (Acts 28:26).

So how do we understand all that Jesus has said to us?  Well, Jesus said, “All this I have spoken to you while I was still with you.  But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father has sent in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you” (John 14:25-26).  To understand Jesus, the things of God, Chat with God the Holy Spirit!

Pray:  Lord fill me with your most Holy Spirit.  Enable me to fully understand your Holy Word.  In Jesus name I pray.   Amen!

Many Blessings,        Pastor Mike

(I’m sure Chatty will also begin to Chat as he continues to grow!)
