Good Wednesday Morning! Today’s Wednesday’s Word is “Vision!”
I’ve had this song in my mind all week.
“Be thou my vision, O Lord of my heart;
naught be all else to me, save that thou art.
Thou my best thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, thy presence my light.”
Yesterday, very early in the morning, Ann woke me up and drove me to the eye surgeon where I had cataracts removed from my left eye. I’m sure that there many who have had that procedure. Now I cannot speak for those folks, but for me … I do not like having to do stuff like that! It makes me nervous! (somebody say, “Amen!”). As nervous as I was I began to sing, “Be thou my vision, O la de de da!”
Right, I couldn’t remember all the words. But I knew in my heart God was there with me.
Bottom line, I actually did very well; due to a great doctor, an equally great team, and The Great God of all the Universe. In fact, whether things go well or things do not go well, The Lord God says, “I’ll be with you even until the end of the world” (Matthew 28:20 KJV).
“Great God of heaven, my victory won,
May I reach heaven’s joys, O bright heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my vision, O ruler of all.”
Pray: Lord God, be our vision. Let us see what you see! Amen.
