Wednesday’s Word – January 13, 2021

Wednesday’s Word

Good Wednesday Morning to you!  I am very thankful to read Psalm 34:19 from my “Upper Room Devotional” this morning.  It says, ”Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord rescues them from them all.”  I also enjoyed the reminder from Bob Nickle’s sermon about Faith vs Fear, that even when Peter had a lack of faith, Jesus reached out and pulled him to safety!

I had an encourager call the other day.  They said they enjoy reading my Wednesday Word each week but had fallen behind. In catching up, they read December 16, which said, “We had leftover spaghetti, saw Christmas lights, had ice cream, what a great night!” The very next Wednesday’s Word they read was from January 6, 2021 where I was very ill and I wrote, Can I be honest?  I’m tired.  I’m weary.  I feel like Job, why has this plague come upon me?  Yes, they noticed a difference in my circumstances.  I was in a different place.  My hope, however, is this: I have nothing to fear.

Know this, circumstances can only influence us if we let them, but God alone holds the answer in his hands.    Amen!

Blessings,

Pastor Mike
