An Apple A Day!
Good Wednesday Morning to you! What’s up with you on this beautiful Wednesday Morning? As for me, I woke up thinking abought eating right (Yep, there I go thinking again)! But, I realized I’m sliding back to bad, old habits in regards to eating. I try on occasion, to eat more healthily, in fact I had a delicious apple the other day. Now I know most of us agree, “an apple a day keeps the doctor away” or at least, an apple is good food. Well, that apple got me thinking about the Song of Moses which proclaims in part how God took good care of Jacob. Scripture says, “God encircled him, instructed him, and kept him as the apple of His eye” (Deuteronomy 32:10).
Interestingly, the original Hebrew can be literally translated as “Little Man of the Eye.” This is a reference to the tiny reflection of yourself that you can see in other people’s pupils when you get close enough to look. (try it with someone!)
The Song of Moses is a wonderful reminder of how God desires to encircle us, teach us, and keep an eye on us simply because of his great love for us. On the flip side, it reminds me to stay in God’s presence, keep my eyes on the Lord, because if I am consistently looking at God, then God’s image will be reflected in my eyes!
Something to think about.
