Stepping into God’s Grace

“Finally, let’s draw near to the throne of favor with confidence so that we can receive mercy and find grace when we need help.”Hebrews 4:16 (CEB)

This past weekend, I attended a birthday party for my cousin’s daughter. It was advertised as a “foam party” so the kids needed to wear bathing suits. A foam party is basically where a company comes into the back yard and blasts bubbles/foam out of a cannon and into the yard for a good hour. To say all the children at the party had a lot of fun is an understatement. At one
point, the foam in the yard was getting close to my height and kids were disappearing within the foam in the yard! I took Elizabeth (6) and Sonny (4) with me and they enjoyed it just like the other kids!

At this party, this foam was available to anyone who wanted to step within it and enjoy it! Some chose to watch from a distance while others leapt right into the fun of the foam covering the back yard. It reminded me of God’s grace in our lives. God’s grace is available to us each and every day as disciples of Jesus Christ. Are we choosing to experience these means in which we can experience God’s grace? We can experience God’s grace in many ways. For example, scripture reading, worship, private prayer, fasting, journaling, the sacraments, etc. are all ways in which we can experience God’s amazing grace.

This foam party reminded me that God’s grace is abundant and available to us each and every day. We just need to step into it and experience it for ourselves. How will you strive to experience God’s grace today?
