“A Joyous Feeling”
Then the one seated on the throne said, “Look! I’m making all things new.” He also said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” Revelation 21:5

Sometimes it can be really nice to experience have a joyous feeling from within ourselves. I experienced at the end of last weekend when I took time to be outside in the beautiful weather. I don’t know about you, but I tried to not be outside in that excessive heat last week to the best of my ability. If I went outside to try to do anything, it was difficult with the heat index getting close to 110 degrees. However, when Sunday rolled around, the temperature dropped significantly and it felt so nice to walk outside and experience cooler temperatures and a nice breeze. This week, I have been taking more time be outside when I have the chance. Whether it’s taking a walk, cutting the grass, etc. it’s given me joy to be outside because the weather feels so much nicer.
Being outdoors has always been something that I feel has been good for me. Breathing some fresh air and connecting with God can bring about a joyous feeling to me. What brings you a joyous feeling like this in your own life? Perhaps you can relate to me when it comes to being outside in some nice weather. Perhaps it’s your family, friends, church family, etc. However, as we consider this verse from Revelation, we can be reminded of another reason to have a joyous feeling in our lives.
God is the one who is making all things new. We live in a world that is not perfect by any means, but it’s a world that is still God’s good creation. You and I get to be a part of coming alongside of God and making this earth look more like heaven. One day, heaven and earth will be renewed and we will experience this eternal happiness with God. Until then, we seek to live as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ while appreciating each day we have on this earth as a gift. So may you and I find those “joyous feelings” in our lives and give thanks to God for each and every one of them!
Amen.
Jake
Amen.
